Homeschooling Gone Wrong

Note to self:
If you happen to be at an apartment complex and see a little snake that obviously needs to be rescued from a storm drain, DO NOT lift the heavy drain and attempt a rescue. It can result in a child's toe being sliced in half. Then you will need to take the screaming child and her dangling toe to the Emergency Room where you will wait for 5 1/2 hours for her toe to be reattached.
It can become an EXPENSIVE field trip!

We learned this lesson the hard way with Madeline.

One of the perks of a serious toe injury is bedazzling your shoe!

The other is being able to ride the motorized carts at Walmart!
But playing piano can be a bit tricky.

This hands on lesson about Henry Ford & assembly lines required Madi to sit in a certain way to keep her toe from throbbing.

We teased Madi about being a "lazy student" because she lays on the Sun Room couch
ALL DAY with her foot propped up on beanbags.

Janelle likes having a ride in Walmart, but she also has to do ALL of the household chores these days because Madi can't bear to have her foot down.

Thank goodness we live next to a nurse!
